Despite the ongoing maintenance work, the Petit Champlain District did not lose any of its charm or beauty. I consider this district to be one of the most endearing places in Québec City because this is where a lot of local artists are based at. When you roam the district, you will find everything from glass blowing, jewelry, paintings to artisanal chocolate shops. It would be hard pressed to not feel a bit inspired after you leave.
This is a great place to find something for yourself or a loved one that is a bit different from the traditional souvenirs (ex. t-shirt, key chains, etc) and it is also a good way to support the local artists as well.
