Toronto is truly a hub for international food and over the years I can honestly say that the variety has only gotten better. On a recent outing, I visited Zakkushi and I was blown away by the authenticity of the place. Zakkushi originally started out in Vancouver and in the recent years they have added new locations in Toronto giving locals here a taste of Japanese cuisine.
With a range of items from karaage (Japanese friend chicken) to a variety of skewers/yakatori (seafood, vegetables, etc.) which is their signature speciality, it would be hard pressed to not find something that you would like.
Naturally a meal is never complete without dessert and while I would have loved to try everything on their menu, I opted for an ice cream doriyaki which consists of traditional Japanese pancakes, red beans and green tea ice cream sandwiched on the inside. Overall, it was a great night and I hope to visit them again!
